- Product Review (submitted on February 12, 2017):
- I love KETO8. I am a cyclist and I keto-adapted in September 2012. I started measuring my serum ketones in early 2013 after reading The Art and Science of Low Carbohydrate Performance which explains the science behind keto adaptation especially for endurance athletes in cycling and running. I started eating "healthy fats" and lost body fat and weight from 30% down to 15% over the next three years with serum ketones ranging from 0.5-1.5. Only rarely did I achieve serum ketones on finger stick close to 2. With Keto 8 building slowly from one teaspoon to 1 tablespoon a day, I can now routinely have serum ketones above 2.0 and even over 3.0. I love it because it is flavorless so I can put it in blended drinks and coffee. My only concern is that it is in a plastic bottle and I would prefer glass, even if it cost more. I cannot find any info about whether the plastic bottle in which it comes is BPA free. That is my only concern. I would love to know how the 8 is cleaved from the more complex palm oil. I worry about solvents or other carcinogens. As a physician, I would like to have these questions clarified for my own good but also for patients and fellow cyclists who are trying to live this paleo nutrition program. It hasn't stopped me from using the product because it is really working.
