KetoShield reduces glucose levels in the blood in two ways - by promoting glucose excretion in the urine and by blocking its absorption in the intestines. Once ingested, carbohydrates are broken down to glucose by the digestive system. Too much glucose can lead to high levels of insulin and result in the storage of body fat. KetoShield, when taken with a meal, controls glucose levels in the blood which stabilizes insulin levels for optimal fat burning. For those striving to achieve nutritional ketosis thru a ketogenic diet, Ketoshield may shorten the time it takes for the body to start burning fat and making ketones. KetoShield may also be helpful to those not restricted to low-carb diets but hoping to limit carbohydrate impact.  KetoShield is best taken up to three times a day with your largest meals.

*Ketoshield should not be taken by people with kidney dysfunctions or by people who are experiencing urinary tract infections. If you are currently using blood glucose lowering medication, or any other prescription or over the counter medicine, please consult a physician before use. KetoSports always recommends that you check with a doctor before taking any nutritional supplement product.

KetoShield contains the compound Phlorizin. Phlorizin belongs to a family of natural compounds called dihydrochalcones. It is a constituent of apples and other fruit.

KetoSports KetoShield Chemical Structure

Phlorizin has been studied and used to treat diabetes and has a history of use in humans. It’s main mode of action is by inhibiting a class of enzymes called sodium/glucose transporters (SGLTs). These enzymes are present in the kidneys and in the lining of the small intestine. In the kidneys, this suppression leads to increased excretion of glucose in the urine, and decreased absorption in the intestines leading to decreased absorption of glucose in the bloodstream.

This combination of decreased glucose absorption in the intestine and increased glucose excretion in the urine serves to lower blood glucose levels effectively. Lowering blood glucose will lower insulin levels which in turn increases the recruitment of fat stores for energy. For people who initiate ketogenic diets, KetoShield may also facilitate the onset of nutritional ketosis faster, via these same mechanisms.

KetoShield is best taken a maximum of three times a day with meals.
